WHEREAS Electroneurophysiology is a trust delegated, it is incumbent upon practitioners to define basic principles to merit and to protect this trust whereby members of CAET may assess and appraise themselves. | |||
This code of ethical conduct, its genesis being the desire to uphold the dignity and to enhance the esteem of Electroneurophysiology, defines the tenets necessary. All members of CAET, upon acceptance of membership, shall commit themselves to the following standards of conduct: |

Electroneurophysiology Technologists shall refuse to participate in, or conceal, unethical practices and/or procedures but shall maintain the highest standards of Electroneurophysiology pursuing only legal, honourable and ethical practices with professional conduct. |

Electroneurophysiology Technologists recognize the obligation to support their professional organizations, local, provincial and national by maintaining membership and by active participation and interest: cooperate and share responsibility with other paramedical fields promoting efforts to encourage enhanced health standards of modern practice; participate appropriately in developing and strengthening research and representing the profession to the public. |

Electroneurophysiology Technologists shall render and dedicate with dignity and confidentiality service to humanity regardless of nationality, race, colour, diagnosis, gender, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs. |

Electroneurophysiology Technologists are expected to be dedicated to service, cooperating with, and recognizing the inestimable importance of the contributions of all other Members of the Allied Health Team, conducting him/herself, so as to render honour to him/herself, to associates and to CAET. |

Electroneurophysiology Technologists are expected to uphold the dignity and respect of their status on a suitable professional level of deportment and/or conduct; diligently applying skills to maintain honesty of endeavour, considering patience, tact, courtesy, efficiency, reliability and personal integrity as fundamental attributes. |

Electroneurophysiology Technologists are entitled to just remuneration accepting only those fees that are customary and lawful or such compensation as the contract actual or implied provides in the area for services rendered in official capacity refusing all tips and/or bribes. |

Electroneurophysiology Technologists must know and be aware of his/her limitations, avoiding encroachment on the recognized obligations of the medical and other paramedical professions and under no circumstances assume, or give the appearance of assuming, the right to make assessments in professional areas outside the parameters of assigned duties and responsibilities. |

Electroneurophysiology Technologists shall be diligent striving to constantly evaluate and assess to advance the knowledge and practice of Electroneurophysiology including continued self-improvement for maximal contribution; maintaining a consistently high level of skill and knowledge of methodology and theory in the art and science of Electroneurophyisology by reading and studying, by observing and questioning. |

Electroneurophysiology Technologists must be familiar with and abide by the minimal technical standards of practice as adopted by the general assembly of the Association. |

Electroneurophysiology Technologists shall sustain confidence in the medical and paramedical team; exposing evidence or unethical conduct, unseemly decorum or incompetence only to proper authorities. |
